The Man City awayjersey2022/23has been designed in tribute to a classic City style worn during one of their most successful eras and celebrates the Club’s heritage of playing fearless, out-of-this-world football.

Manchester City have officially unveiled their new Puma away kit ahead of the start of the 2022/23 season.

The Man City awayjersey2022/23takes inspiration from the triumphant at the 1969FA CupFinal and the 1970 League Cup and European Cup Winner’s final, in which Manchester City wore red and black verticle stripes. Conceived by the legendary Malcolm Alliso, the team debuted the away kit yesterday during their pre-season friend game against Club America, in which City won 2-1 following two goals from Belgium midfielder Kevin De Bruyne.

To mark the launch and to celebrate the anniversary of the first moon landing on 20 July 1969, members of the City squad visited the NASA Space Center in Houston ahead of the club’s fixture against Club America.

Featuring red and black stripes, which is a throwback to the iconic strip that City wore when they won the 1969 FA Cup final and the 1970 League Cup and European Cup Winners' Cup, the front of the Man City awayjersey2022/23also features the Puma logo and City crest, designed in an eye-catching black and yellow. The Etihad Airways sponsor is also emblazoned across the front of the Man City away jersey.

With City currently in Houston, their unveiling video saw the likes of new £51million signing Erling Haaland and Jack Grealish model the kit during a visit to the NASA Space Center.

City last donned black and red stripes back in the2011-12 campaign, withSergio Aguero, David Silva and Vincent Kompany the main stars to wear the Man City awayjerseya decade ago.
